Easy Bolognese Recipe

Ingredients
1 3/4 cups chopped onion
2/3 cup chopped celery
1/2 cup finely chopped carrot
6 garlic cloves, minced
375 grams ground beef, extra lean
1 1/2 cups canned crushed tomatoes
1 cup lower-sodium beef broth
1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
2 tablespoons tomato paste
2 teaspoons sugar
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1/4 teaspoon salt

Preparation

1. Heat a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add onion, celery, carrot, and garlic to pan; sauté 4 minutes. Add beef, to vegetable mixture. Cook 5 minutes or until browned; stir to crumble. Drain meat mixture; place in a 6-quart electric slow cooker. Stir in tomatoes and remaining ingredients. Cover and cook on LOW for 8 hours. Remove and discard .

Tangy Slow Cooker Mac and Cheese

Sounds great and the ingredients are kid friendly but my family did not enjoy this recipe. It was a fail. But maybe it’s us! So here is the recipe and if it ends up being a success in your household great! At least, this post will be a success! Hope you enjoy this easy to prepare meal!!!

Ingredients:
2 cups elbow macaroni
4 cups shredded Cheddar cheese, divided
1 (12 fluid ounce) can evaporated milk
1 1/2 cups milk
2 eggs
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 teaspoon mustard powder
Sprinkle – Bread crumbs and Fresh Parmesan

Directions:

1. Coat the inside of the slow cooker with cooking spray.
2. In a large bowl, beat eggs with fresh and evaporated milks. Mix in uncooked macaroni and 3 cups shredded cheese. Transfer to slow cooker, add remaining cheese on top. Sprinkle with bread crumbs and Parmesan
3. Cook on low for 5 to 6 hours. Do not stir or remove lid while cooking.

Slow Cooker Cheese Tortellini with Broccolli

Spray the slow cooker

Ingredients
1 package of cooked cheese tortellini
2 cups of frozen broccoli
I can or jar of your favourite spaghetti sauce

add to slow cooker
cook on low heat 7-8 hours
so easy, why not?

My mom had linked this recipe to me on Facebook and we tried it a few months ago. OMG, it is absolutely yummy. The first night I make it, I make egg noodles and we use the sauce and pour that over the noodles. Then when everyone is done, I shred everything that is left and mix it with the sauce. It makes the best sandwiches.

  • 4-6 pieces boneless skinless chicken breasts (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 bottle BBQ sauce (The recipe I have called for Sweet Baby Ray’s, we always use that but with Carter’s stomach problems I am going to switch to a gluten free one, bbq sauce really bothers his stomach)
  • 1/4 c vinegar
  • 1 tsp. red pepper flakes(I have never used them)
  • 1/4 c brown sugar
  • 1/2 – 1 tsp. garlic powder
